Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) training institution named "Battle School" was initially raised at Peelkhana, Dhaka on 28 April 1976 to train the members of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR). On 5th April 1980 it was renamed as Rifles Training School (RTS). On 13 February 1981 Rifles Training School (RTS) was shifted to the present location. And on 18 August 1991, Rifles Training School (RTS) was again renamed as Rifles Training Centre & School (RTC&S). Finally it became Border Guard Training Centre & School (BGTC&S) with the flag raising of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) by the Honourable Prime Minister on 23 January 2011.
